I’m a dual citizen; born in Iowa’s farmlands and raised in Vancouver, B.C. Claymation, skate-videos, and short films were my spark.
I studied the Arts in Boston, MA. Cut my teeth shooting documentary films around the world, from East Africa to the sunlit shores of Central America. I carried my lens to LA and founded a production company with an emphasis on commercial directing and producing. I teamed up with some incredible artists and we got busy creating. Awards? Yep, we got em’, but the best project are the ones we’re still working on.
I now live with my queen bee and our little critters in a tree fort home amongst the mighty Doug Firs of the Pacific Northwest. Here, there, or anywhere … I remain a committed filmmaker.
The work must speak for itself but I will say this: I have a cine-doc style that I dab in poetic grit. Whatever I lack, I make up for in work ethic. I endure. I’m a natural problem solver and my crew knows I’m there to promote their best work.
As a director you’ll find me making script notes in the morning and wrangling cable at the end of the day. I’ll be the first to walk the camera into a barn filled with pig shit and the last one to pass out before we lock the final edit.
I love this craft.
Till’ the wheels come off.
Like anyone, I’m a many splendored thing. Refined but untamed. A flash of all trades. I stay gritty in the trenches but rise to the occasion. If the wheels fall off, I’ll find a way to keep rolling. Far in and all out but always all in and far out. Soulful and observant. Forever awed by this existence and the breath in these lungs.
