Not everything made in Belize is made of Belize. There’s a voice that rumbles off the reef and comes calling from the sea. There are those who hail it back. All Belizeans know that old familiar breeze, that salt and liberty, but there are a special few who say farewell and answer with their sails. They cut across gleaming stretches of surfaces blue and jade. A way of life only known by those who live and breath it. They cast their lines and dive the deep, treasuring the bounties of the sea. The artisanal fishermen are part of a timeless tale of those who go forth upon the face of the waters. It was a moving experience to share the elements with this crew and to bring much deserved recognition to the dauntless piscators who haul from the sea to provide for their families and fellow countrymen.
