Both Brandon and Leah are dear friends and we've done a lot of collaborating over the years. Before their separation in 2018, the "BeeLee's (as they hated me calling them) were a powerhouse indie-pop couple, performing together since their high school days. They're both incredibly gifted singer-songwriters and more importantly, just very good-hearted, down-to-earth people; not always an easy thing to be when you're contending with the level of fame that surrounds their families. Anyway, their musical chemistry was undeniable and I always appreciated the type of energy they brought to the stage. Although "live at the Sycamore" was more subdued, loungey, MTV Unplugged type event, I'm still very proud of how honestly we captured the performance.
