There were a lot of hectic moments on this shoot. Everything had to be shot on LG's V20 smartphone (non-negotiable), and since we didn't want it to look subpar, we employed every hack we could to push the phone's capabilities. But, whenever you're working with unreleased hardware combined with beta software, there's a high probability Murph's Law will drop the gavel. Wham. Plus, it was a hella-hot summer shoot in San Clemente, CA, and there was a known over-heating issue that loved to brick the phones at the worst possible times (of course). So, we called in a surplus of units and accepted they'd be plenty of casualties. Besides all this moaning and groaning, we had a rad time shooting the campaign with Ryan, his brother Shane, and a bunch of his buddies. Everyone was locked in, gracious, and game to go hard at some iconic spots.

Rolling with the punches, we employed a cine-doc style full of MacGyver-rigging and managed to make our days with room for experimentation. Spontaneous moments kept the energy levels high and hopefully added that element of authenticity to the experience.
